As-salamu ‘alaykum and good evening ladies and gents.
First things first: Our sincere apologies for the irregularity of our posts. God-willing we’ll be much more regular from here on out.
Now that that’s been said, there is much of which we must speak, you and I (yes, you). We had the recent blessing to visit our Great Lakes neighbors in Dearborn, Michigan for the Central Zone Conference 2007. Big ups and Chocolate Chip Kudos to the hardworking brothers and sisters who held it down like true professionals.
MuslimTees.com’s Taqee Khaled, Maniac Muslim, himself, Hamzah Moin, and funny (looking) man Aman Ali presented a panel talk during this conference that, al-hamdulillah, turned out alright despite the effects of much late night Qiyam affecting the majority of the conference attendees. (I kid, I kid.)
The gist of the topic dealt with our take on the applicability of Dr. ‘Umar Faruq ‘Abd`Allah’s “Islam and the Cultural Imperative” paper to our work and what we believe others must do in order to actuate “the imperative.”
I’m just finishing up the transcript of my portion of that talk and will attach an mp3 of half-decent quality, insha`Allah, within the week. Please critique it sharply!
Again: welcome back and we hope to see you more!
