We’re Back!

September 25, 2007 · 2 Comments

Yep, we had a scare there – out blog went down!

Here’s the problem. Yahoo Merchant Solutions, our hosting and shopping cart provider, did not support code maintanence or updates for our WordPress blog. This left us with a reaaaaaally old blog that well froze, pretty much. Not to worry we salvaged all of the old posts and even updated our template. Looks pretty smart no?

The other big change is the web address, we can’t use our MuslimTees.com/blog until I strengthen my programming muscles. Speaking of programming, I’m working on updating the site so sister shirts are on the way – I kid you not.

I would like to apologize to everyone. We’re still in the middle of moving our inventory so our ability to send orders has been impaired. InshAllah we’ll get be operating at that level of sweetness that you’re use to in a week or two.

Other than that, how’s Ramadan going for everyone? I’m Saudi working and Ramadan over here is REALLY fun! Last night we got invited to another dinner, this Wednesday my Aunt is having a late night dinner/sahoor party at 10 pm. A brother could get use to this!

But on the real, I miss having iftaars with the community at large after a long day of being the only one fasting back in the US. The food seems to taste better if your day is harder, know what I mean?

Oh well, since I’m here I might as well enjoy it! I hope you’re enjoying your Ramadan wherever you are and whoever you’re with.

Something is definitely wrong!

September 19, 2007 · 2 Comments

Salaam guys,

As you may notice the blog looks, well, different – not in a good way lol. We’re experiencing some cosmetic technical difficulties with WordPress our blog hosting provider.

I just want let everyone know that our Yahoo Merchant order processing and management is running fine – so you can still buy those hot shirts!

We are working on getting blog back to its original beauty.

Post-ISNA and Ramadan Mubarak!

September 12, 2007 · Leave a Comment

AA,

ISNA came and went within a blink of an eye. We thank everyone that stopped by, chatted with us, and bought a shirt or two. It is always nice to stand across the customer hearing what they like or don’t like and how our shirts impact them. But that doesn’t mean you can’t email (aziz [at] muslimtees [dot] com) us with your suggestions or comments, actually we’d be in your debt if you did.

Right now MT is going through a little shake-up. Our inventory is getting moved to a new ‘warehouse’ (read: apartment closet, lol) and we’re still recovering from ISNA inventory depletion. You might experience a delay in your order because of all these events. I apologize for that.

InshAllah we’ll be releasing information about an exciting initiative that MT is starting called Bring Change. You’ll hear about it soon and want to apply your MSA just as soon!

As you may know Ramadan starts tomorrow inshAllah. I’m going to state the obvious and say that it is a wonderful time for reflection on your life, efforts so far, and goals in life. Often times with this business and working full time and family obligations and so on and so on there are last minute fires that we need to put out in life that rob you of your ability to focus on the things that really matter. For MT it is wondering if we’ll have enough cash to expand a clothing line or pay operating costs or if a product will be well received by customers – a lot of things that steal your attention. With Ramadan, partly due to sensation of hunger one experiences, it provides a reminder for things that are really important or I should say the only thing that really matters at the end of the day.

I personally look forward working on my neeyah regarding MuslimTees. Dealing with business matters one can quickly loose sight of their initial intentions and who controls rizq when worrying about stats, account balances, and timelines; pressure from the community can also cast doubts on one’s intentions.

Take advantage of this month, review where you are in your life and make changes to get where you want to be now because it’s too late when you’re dead. And that’s real.

Yesterday was the sixth anniversary of 9/11, MuslimTees stands in unity with the host of other Muslim organizations like MSA-National, CAIR, MAS, ISNA, ICNA and many more in condemnming the terrorist acts of 9/11 and all terrorist acts enacted in the name of Islam or any religion.

Ramadan Mubarak.
