Zamin this is so true. If you just take one step back and put your life in perspective with others we realize we have so much to be thankful for. I mean not that our problems our any less real or harder to deal with but Remember if God put you through it, he’ll put you through it > I have a quote that your blog reminded me of. It says “don’t tell God how big your problems are. Tell your problems how big your God is ” And you know, even if we were one of those unfortunate people living in Muslim countries, we have something to say alhamdullah for. God gave us life and the fact that we still have it in itself is a huge blessing! I love your post. It just makes you sit back and think and show gratitude to the one who created us and loves us most. Also, the Google Earth analogy was amazing. I would’ve never come up with something like that

Hmmm….I agree with most of what you said but I don’t think it’s fair to compare the poor of other countries to those on welfare in our society because they might have more than their global counterparts, but the portion of their income that needs to get food or access to health care can be worse. There are cities in the United States where the infant mortality rates are higher than in places like Bangladesh.

I also had the opportunity recently to listen to Van Jones (http://www.vanjones.net/) who works on pollution & poverty in the U.S. – it’s fascinating!

But I think you are right about the ingratitude despite all that we do have. Thanks for the post!
